Thin strip heaters, 10-mm wide and 50-cm wide are placed on a 50-cm wide flat plate. The heaters are placed such that there is no space between two adjacent heaters and the top surface of the elements forms a smooth surface. Each strip is electrically and thermally insulated from its neighbouring strips. Air at 20 degrees celcius flows over a flat plate with a free stream velocity of 10m/s. By controlling the power input for each of the elements, the surfaces of strips are maintained at a uniform temperature of 80 degree celcius. Determine heat transfer rate from strips 5,10,80,200 from the leading edge and also total heat transfer rate ?
