Will people with an expired Final Warning have their DNA removed under the new plans?

Jacqui Smith today announced plans to remove the DNA of innocent people.
In 2003, when I was 14 (a few days before my 15th birthday), I was arrested, and after about a year on bail I was given a Final Warning and released (the final warning being the juvenile replacement of the caution). I was not charged, the case never went to court and I have never been arrested since. According to the plans I think my DNA profile should be removed because I was under 18 when I was arrested and it's been about 6 years since it happened, to boot.
Can anyone clear my situation up?

Given that this has all just been announced today I don't think that the powers that be would be sure of what will happen let alone any of us lot on here.

What I'd advise you, though, is either go to the Police Station where you were arrested and dealt with, if you're still in that area, or else contact them in writing with your enquiry.

They will hopefully be able to give you a definitive reply.

Apparently there are to be two stages of 6 years, and 12 years. If you google Sky News, the details are on there.

According to this link, those given a final warning for a serious violent or sexual offence (which, you'll be glad to know, I have not!), will be retained for life, while those given a final warning for a lesser offence will have their DNA removed at 18. Since I am not 21 and was 15 when I actually got the final warning, I should be removed within the next 18 months as they clear the system in accordance with the ECHR.

The new legislation may mean that they are unable to retain your DNA, Fingerprints and PNC record but they will keep your arrest record for life. How do i know this? I recently was advised that my DNA, Fingerprints and PNC record had been deleted after fighting for this to be removed for over one year my circumstances were seen to classed as exceptional and rare. Someone accessed and obtained a sanitised version of the arrest and used this to harass me. They were able to obtain the document vis the public access office because the document had their name on it as a person involved and due to the data protection rights he was allowed to have an edited sanitised copy. What a disgrace this government is. They have invaded every part of the persons absolute right to privacy.
