dna - Is found in every living cell. This is found in the nucleous of most celss (eukaryotes) in the cytosol of prokaryotes. It acts as the genetic blueprint for the cell. DNA is a type of nucleic acid which holds the physical and genetic characteristics of everyone...e.g. height, weight, eye colour and so on.
DNA stands for Dioxyribose Nucleic Acid. It holds all the genetic information necessary for proteins to be made from simpler compounds called amino acids, and regulates what an organism will be like. It is a very complex substance and is present in the nucleus and cytoplasm and mitochondria of cells. DNA is not alive, it is a chemical substance. It would be present in a tiny part of a skeleton.
