column tracer tests
Are there any geochemists out there who can suggest a reference that talks about general guide lines concerning setting up through column tracer tests (injecting a tracer into a column filled with some type of geologic medium and using the break through curve to say a something about the hydrologic parameters of the medium), ie. how to design the experiment in order to answer specific questions?

I know the theory and math behind these types of experiments, but I am not sure how certain parameters such as the length and width of the column, flow rate, etc. effect the results. Seeing that column experiments are fairly standard methods to study solute transport in different mediums, it would make sense that someone should write a paper or book describing how to design column experiments in order to answer specific questions. If such a paper does not exist, maybe I will write one after I have more experience in through column tracer tests.
