In going through the sound barrier a sonic boom is created ..If it were possible to go HYPERSONIC... 5 times the speed of sound, would a boom still be created?

The sonic boom occurs as you go through the sound barrier. Any speed - supersonic, hypersonic etc will pass through this speed at a particular point and that is when the boom is created.
The shock wave that produces a sonic boom continues to be formed as speed exceeds that of sound.

This shock wave eminates from the object moving through the air at the speed of sound in the shape of a cone which narrows (becomes more pointed) as speed increases.
