Methanol is extremely toxic to humans when taken by mouth, inhalation or injection. Some of the other additives in the industrial methylated spirits are also toxic along with the methyl salicylate. Diethyl phthalate is a dangerous irritant.
So yes, ingestion of surgical spirit by any of the routes discussed above is harmful to humans. The only acceptable method of using it is by application to the skin as per the instructions on the bottle.

When i was carrying my older son i had very high blood pressure *didnt know, first child* anyway because of my waters, *doc said* i itched from my scalp to the soles of my feet and surgical spirits was the only thing that helped stop it for a while anyway, son is now 30, but likes a DRINK at the wkend lol maybe the surgical SPIRIT helped him on his road eh lol *joking*
