Tupperware type food containers come up lovely in the dishwasher, but remain the only item still wet after the whole cycle. Glass, china, cutlery all as dry as a bone, but not the plastic. Why is this?
I think also its to do with the surface hardness. Glass and ceramic by its very nature does not scratch easily whereas tupperware (plastic) does. These tiny marks and scratches allow the water to adhere longer and not form droplets as with a harder smoother surface. Imagine looking at both surfaces under a microscope. The tupperware would look like a ploughed field and the glass wouldnt. Think this has more bearing than the drying time :-)
