Anode...

Positive = Anode

Negative = Cathode

 

PANCake.  It sounds stupid but you will never get them the wrong way round again!

I was taught CATIONs are PUSSYtive therefore they will go to the cathode making the anode the positive electrode (I had a very cheap education). 
When we did the hydrolysis of water, we were taught O.A.P., Oxygen at the Anode which is Positive. I still remember it now, so it must be good!
