when my first gcse report cam out and was mostly b's and c's with a couple of a's (which keeps improving), i got told off for not trying hard enough.

Now that i've got a* on my geography and chemistry coursework, and an a on my physics, my parents don't even care, they didn't even say well done.

ggggrrrr, what can i do to please them ????????????

Cook them a healthy meal.
you are not doing your exams for your parents, you are doing them for yourself and your future.
Get a tattoo, that'll cheer them up no end

Hope this helps
become a millionaire and give them some money

it wouldn't be so bad if they weren't bothered about the 'cs' and 'bs' i got to start with but they made me feel really bad about getting them and said i should be getting 'as' and 'a*s', even though msot people got grades well below what they are getting now.
or become a millionaire and don't give them any money. As cazzz say's you're doing these exams for your self not them so well done and stick with it
well maybe they only moan when you are not doing as well?, either way the statement still stands, you do your gcse's for yourself and your future.
I wouldnt give them any. No matter what grades my parents have always been there for me. Even now when I dont get a job after interview they make me see the positive of it all. It would seem you are doing all this to make your mum and dad proud when they should be proud of you no matter what. Start doing things for yourself xx

cazz, i was doing better than most people. I was the only person in my class not to have a fail grade (d or worse) on their first gcse report. And sicne then, all of my grades have gone up and non of them on my last report were lower than a b, and that was only for social ethics (like r.e.), and art (which my mum can't say anything about as she managed to fail even cse art,)
you know you have to realise that other peoples results do not matter, they are not going to affect your future. If your mom and dad are not supportive you will just have to accept that is how they are, we cannot choose our parents and although in an ideal world they would be there for us no matter what, some parents are just not like that.

focus on improving your revision on subjects that you scored a lower grade in and stop worrying and comparing grades, it will only hinder your focus.
P.S molly parents can be funny people, just because they don't say anything doesn't always mean they aren't pleased

i know cazz bu they were trying to make me feel bad and as if i was stupid, but they didn't realise about the other people in my class and that every got low grades because we'd only bee doing the course for a few weeks, and know that i thought that they'd actually be proud of me a pleased wih my work for once, they don't even care, as if thats the minimum they expect from me, but i can't do better, its impossible and i don't know what to do for them to be pleased and proud of me, i feel as if i can't win.
Question Author
sorry that last post was full of mistakes, but this whole thing is making me upset and angry and feel as if i'll never be good enough for them.
then stop trying to please them. just do what you can and stop fretting about it.
molly,

Can I just ask..?
Are you ever happy about anything or have nothing to moan about!?

Sounds harsh, but having come back on today after not being on a few days, every thread you have made is moaning about something or other! Just try and be happy about something, and you never know, the world may seem like a much better place!
