cartoon about the human body that was shown early-morning Sunday on Channel 4 in the '80s
At the start of every episode, a boy or girl would do something stupid like trip over a log and graze their leg. Or, like a complete moron, catch a cold or something. The rest of the episode would be how the kid's antibodies and white blood cells and stuff (in the form of little space-age soldier guys in flying ships - think Starship Troopers with the appearance of Bob the Builder) would zap the invading virus/germs (in the form of gloopy mud monsters) with lasers. The antibodies were commanded by some bearded chap who resided in the brain, natch.
The title of the show could possibly be along the lines of The Story of Life, but it's probably completely different as my memory tends to be stupid. Heck, it's telling me that the theme tune went "#Ohhhh, life#" at some point so it's quite clear that my memory really isn't to be trusted.

I have serached every and cannot even remember the name of the show! It may have been something along the lines of "The Human Body"? I remember the red blood cell soldiers and the white bearded man (not Jesus) and the little pods that the kids used to fly around in. I wanted to be there with them.
Do I get a certificate?
Please.
Right I got it. Firstly thanks for reminding me about this, it's made me feel all warm and fuzzy, a proper childhood memory, I was 5 when it was around.
It was French and was part of a series of of teaching programs designed for children, it's french title was "Il tait une fois... la vie" translating to English as "Once Upon a Time... Life" so it was the Life version of the Once Upon A Time series.
I found a french site about it with a picture that brought back memories, I put it through a translation website, follow this loink to have a look.
Being good at internet searching isn't something to be proud of, it means I spend too much time doing it. I found an entry on the Internet Movie DataBase ( http://www.imdb.com ) for the French title and it had the date of 1986 next to it, it could have been after that thinking about it, it was probably when it was made in French, so I was probably between 5 and 7. But it is a vague memory so nearer 5 methinks.
If your searching on the net search for the French title, otherwise you just get forums with people asking this question on them, the French title gets you French sites, but you can translate em at: http://world.altavista.com/
