orange broadband help again please
Last post i put in someone said to do a ethernet cable conection but i can only do this if i bring router upstairs and connect it to the bt socket i have upstairs wich is not the main incomeing one its a seperate socket i have in different room would this be ok if so do i still need filter on main socket and then another on upstairs socket, as i am haveing bad signal probs...Also my router is a grade g so would it help in any way to get a grade N wireless network card or adaptor and use that on my desktop would that get me a better signal and performance...I realise it be maybe better with grade N router also but cant afford that at min.....Please advise as this orange bradband is giveing me grief...It is even worse after 4.30 pm at night till around 12 midnight just on a go slow .....But signal i guess isnt helping either.....my router is only downstairs and no walls are blocking it so it very odd i guess these free routers are not what they cracked up to be hence why free.......Please post and will try sort it........would be easier if grade n adaptor would be better as then can leave router were it is as it to main socket wich i guess is best

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Try it with the router upstairs, if you have decent quality internal phone wiring it won't make any difference.
And you should have a filter in every socket a phone is attached to, but make sure the extension going to upstairs is not going through a filter at the downstairs end of it, just plug one in upstairs.
