Now that scientists have proved that the chicken arrived before the egg what does this tell us about evolution?

But then you must first be clear on which egg you're referring to. The chicken is conceived before the egg it hatched out of is fully developed complete with its encapsulating shell. Then again there could be no conception without an egg to be fertilized, which in the case of the first chicken was produced within the now egg-stinct proto-chicken.
