How do you work out the rate of respiration, i think i have come up with a way but can someone just confirm that this is what you do!!

Rate of respiration = amount of oxygen/mass of animal
then your answer to that/time

well medically its how many breaths taken in a minute but i don't think that's what you want?
Are you sure that you are not mixing it up with Basal Metabolic Rate?

I really don't know! I just remember in class the other day i got a question which gave you the mass of an animal, how much oxygen is breathed and the time it was over and my friend told me you do that sum! I'll ask my teacher though to get it right haha
