I found an old Pilot radio with a wooden cabinet and a round dial. Short wave , long wave, and medium wave bands. Is it worth anything or will i bring it to the dump?

Does it work? I have no knowledge of the make but some old radios are quite collectable. Ask your local auction house what they think.
does it have valves or transistors?
American radios (such as the 'Pilot' brand) can be quite rare in this country. If you're lucky enough to have a 'tombstone' radio (so named because of its shape) it could be worth £30 to £60. Other Pilot radios usually sell for between £10 and £20.

(I love old radios. If I ever get a big win on the lottery, so that I'll have more spaces as well as more money, I'd love to start a big collection. At the moment I've only got a few of them).
