"Are robots that look too human a bad idea? "
Dunno, but humans that look to robotic are a bad idea. http://userserve-ak.l...109587/Gary+Numan.jpg
That's really good! It's either a robot doing a fantastic impression of a human or a human doing a fantastic impression of a robot - either way I'm still impressed.
It's certainly impressive. However, I think the give away are the blinks. Have the Japanese been so attentive to detail that they've remembered (at much extra and unnecessary expense) to make sure their robot blinks? Double blinks too sometimes!

I don't think so. It's more credible to think this is a very attractive young lady whose had some 'robot' attention paid to her makeup and hair.
I think you're wrong andyvon, it's a robot. google 'ACTROID', and every link you care to choose will confirm it. Anyway, why shouldn't it blink? - it's the blinks and eye movements that look the most unatural thing about it to me.
I'm with Andy I think its fake. Look her fore head when she blinks sometimes it crinkles sometimes it doesn't.
