Bright planet or star

what's the really bright star or planet visible in the south at the moment, I think its moved over the last month or so from the east.

if you have a friend with HTC or iphone ask if they can download google sky, this will tell you which planet it is could be a number of planets jupiter and uranus are close together at the mo with neptune a little further around. to the right,.

of those 3 only Jupiter will be visible to the naked eye, binoculars will show the others

(and Stellarium is grrrreat!)

You can inport your own landscape to Stellarium. Cool, take a panoramic pic of your garden, that way it's easier to say, "Jupiter should be just above the greenhouse''.

That will be a great help for someone like me that has no compass, lol.

Naz, to see this planet (jupiter) you dont need to stretch your head back,keep it straight and imagine doing a "Hitler salute" you would be roughly pointing at it.

lol @ naz, this planet is really really bright and white in colour, a bit like the space station when it goes over.

are you sure it's not a commit? wouldn't a planet stay still in space with the stars around it?
