If you put them on now, they will be ready by Christmas.

when we moved house we bought a frozen turkey with us, and then fogot about it, it was the first to go in so got covered up with other stuff, we ate it 5 years later, it was fine but had some dry bits where the plastic had split, but my sister said you freeze the date as well as the item, i never throw frozen stuff out because of the date.
After finishing at the Pit I worked for a firm making catering sized cakes and pies as well as small stuff such ad eclairs donuts etc. All products were dated from packaging and dispatch from the factory, many of the larger products for the catering trade, for instance large Black forest Gateaux, were often made and stored in the deep freezers (-50°F) for months before dispatch but the various sell by/display by/ best by/ dates still ran from the packaging and dispatch date. Since working in that factory I'ne never bothered too much about the dating.
My Mum reckons she still has some brambles in her freezer that I picked when I was 11 yrs old (I'm now 46 ) I do not know if this is true but knowing my mum, nothing went to waste in our house. Mind you, I'm very much like that now as long as it smells and tastes ok i'll still eat some things that are out of date. Not sure about years out of date tho.
