Christmas Shopping Far Too Early

These are some people I know started in September getting all excited and making shopping lists and buying presents. I consider it too early even now to think about it. What is it with these people, is their life so dull and boring they have to focus on Christmas every year so early on to find some excitement? Personally I can't stand it, the only good thing about it is a week off work. As for new year, everyone joining hands and dancing and hugging just because it's midnight on some insignificant day. I find it all nauseating. Give me summer any day.

I bet in Summer you moaned it was too hot!!!
My life must be really dull as I like to start around 23 Sept (Michaelmass)
I've been doing some online Xmas shopping today............

Why not put this in the 'Christmas' topic listed under CB, is it due to lack of interest?
;-)
For me it is more about budgeting , with four Grandchildren I need to spread the cost.

New Year is sat alone with a glass of bubbles watching the fireworks from my balcony.

Sad, boring - yes maybe I am.
I do mine very (very) late - I just don't gave anywhere to hide it all. I know some people who finished their shopping and wrapped it all!
Mam - I'm in bed by 10pm on NYE - I hate it
Might get up to watch the fireworks though
Just sat listening to The Pogues and the lovely Kirsty now
Hopefully not this year Mamya xx
Merry Christmas Dave!
its sensible to shop early, who wants to be standing in queue's for hours or finding things out of stock by leaving things until the last minute?
Some people shop early for Christmas because they hate shopping in the Christmas crush and have to buy presents.
I don't go anywhere near the shopping centres from mid November to mid January and as I buy a lot online I prefer to order early and avoid hassle and panic.
I've bought some big, scented candles from Costco, but only because they sell out so early.
I plan early not because i want to but I hate having a panic last minute. There's more chance things are in stock and will arrive within a few days than at Christmas time when everybody else wakes up. I on the other hand enjoy the lead up to Christmas as pressies are sorted and I have time to enjoy it.
Saying this I prefer the lead up to Xmas to the day itself!!
My aunt does the xmas shopping all year round. She doesn't go out specifically to buy presents but if she's sees something she buys it and puts it away.

She's super duper organised in all aspects of life. Doing it your way would make her unhappy so it's a case of each to their own.

I bought the daughter's Xmas present last month 'cos it was on offer at half price.
like mamya, have newish grand kids,1 in Oz,so need to get stuff off in good time, but not bother really with other gifts
I am Ummmm's aunt....and Dave...when I read your posts I so wish I could cheer you up a little.....x

My life is far from dull and boring but if I see the perfect Christmas gift for say....Stephen Fry....in August I will buy it with enthusiasm.

I love joining hands and dancing and hugging so I can't comment on New Years Eve....I do it all the time. Even in Aldi if the mood comes over me.

Be happy, Dave.....☺...x
Love it, got your sprouts on yet dave.
