Simply another example of abuse of the system and lack of responsibility / self control. The system needs overhauling to put responsibility back where it should be. I think we had a similar thread a short while ago. (Well if honest probably one a week.)
There are so many ways of *** the system, having children is one of them. I know someone who doesn't live a million miles from me who has made their company limited just so they can claim more benefit.
chaptazbru2: That article. We all know it's happening but to make it public and be proud of it is beyond me. I claim benefits myself and I feel ashamed of it - I certainly don't go to the press and tell them how good it is living off tax payers money. Before anyone says anything, 90% of the benefit I get I give back to my mum who has worked all her life - if anything she's just getting taxed less.
chaptazbru2: As a man it's something I may only ever witness, not endure, and not have to feel; I'm lucky in that sense, however I think I'd get some phantom pains just watching such a 'miracle?'.
Yes Mamy my question was about budgeting. I am unsure I would be able to budget like that family.
But then I read that she publicly proclaims that the welfare system was to blame for her large family. Also that her benefits help her fund a £30-a-week smoking habit.
Mr P and I decided to stop at two children for several reasons, one of the main ones being that we just couldn't afford any more.
I think stories like this do nothing for the image of the 99% of benefit recipients who do struggle from day to day and would never be able to afford to live like this particular family.
