It's only 61 days away.

I absolutely love Christmas, at least, I love the atmosphere and not the commercialism.

Everyone who knows me is aware that my tree and decs go up on the weekend closest to my birthday (12/11), and I make no apologies for that!

I actually have some small "discreet " items that remain on view all year round!

Bring it on!!!

Any celebratory day that brings people together and smiles on kids and adults faces alike gets my vote. The only thing I'm upset about is that we don't get a white Christmas like countries that actually get 4 seasons do. Our Christmas day could be a snowy one but it could just as easily be a blowing gail, torrential downpour or blazing sun, sometimes all of them on...

I was in a shop in Norfolk on Monday. and they were playing Christmas Carols. All the Christmas things were on display, I thought it was a bit early.
HATE the commercialisation, love Christmas.
I like Xmas in December. Not October.
I've been known to START my Christmas shopping (including buying Christmas cards) at 3.30pm on Christmas Eve!

Christmas is largely 'just another day' for me, except that it's more boring than usual because I can't get to my favourite pubs (even if they're actually open) or go shopping. I do quite enjoy shopping for presents for a few special people though - but that's about it for me.
Christmas STARTS on the 25th December and ends on the 6th January.

You get the big build up and then, boom it's all over. All just for one day.

But I love it!!!
I agree Peachy. I really don't like the word Xmas.... I always enjoy Christmas with the grandkids. This year I've made everyones Christmas presents, so just wrapping paper to buy

Don't be silly. A skin disease is something which is extremely irritating and you probably won't be able to see the end of until you've spent a lot of money dealing with it.

Oh hang on though. That's exactly like Christmas for many people, isn't it?

About five years ago I had an operation on my back a couple of months before Christmas. I knew that I wouldn't be able to get loads of decorations down in January, so decided to be more modest.

I decided that I would go completely with the Christmas tree theme, and began to collect all different types of tabletop trees to put around the house. I was so pleased with the effect that I have continued to collect all manner of Christmas trees; fabric, tin, wood etc.

Visitors always comment that it looks very sophisticated!!

What, moi???
I been asking my local landlady when to going to put the Christmas decorations, she told me go away!!

Tonyav. Any good? I know it has loads of German stalls.

I'd love to get a carved wooden tabletop tree there. Is it the sort of thing that they sell?

BTW, we're coming up from North Essex, but no white stilettos!
lights in Oxford St are up, but not on.
but no white stilettos!

Wot, you won't get into brum without them ya know ;-)

Yes loads of German stalls with lot's of hand made stuff, mulled wine ( can't remember the German word for it ), you most likely will find some wooden table top trees.
I love Christmas, the sparkle and the lights and happy excited children.

I ignore the overhyped part always have, just do as we feel with no pressure.

Oh and naff music too.
Glühwein ?
