Pendleside Hospice Dingbats
35 Answers
Couldn't remember how to ASK a question but got help via AnswerBank! Thank you! Having bought this quiz again (because I support the Hospice before anyone asks!) I resisted the temptation to attempt it until the season of goodwill had passed. (I have NEVER got it all right!) I can see no logic in some of the dingbats even some of the answers I have eventually arrived at. For example, I am flummoxed by Q45 Lily Rose Tulip Daffodil in a vertical list but Rose has two thick black lines through it (others are bulbs?); Q48 MATCHSIRS (anagram of Christmas but ...mixed up? muddled up? concused? I am now!) Nothing seems to fit the theme of "festive phrases, Christmas films, Christmas novels, titles of (or lyrics from) a Christmas carol or song, festive foods or whatever" stipulated by the compiler apart from the word. Any 'pointers' please?

The answer I have is on this list - remember the key word whilst looking. https:// en. wikipedia. org/ wiki/ List_ of_ Christmas_ carols# English

Someone had suggested that - but why 'crackers'? - The compiler is very strict and tells us that "The Golden Rule is to Answer the dingbat, the whole Dingbat, and nothing but the Dingbat" and although the word 'Christmas' is 'cracked up' it isn't exactly 'crackers'. Thanks for the suggestion but any other ideas?
Mamyalynn, I doubt that I really am 'down to these few' and actually couldn't make head nor tail of some of the answers in the other threads or what questions the answers referred to which is why I set off on my own but am persisting with 'simple looking' ones. Wrong again! Have even done, as instructed and read more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer" and still didn't understand so whoever happens to give them had better just know it's them.
I was tempted to do that Mamyalynne (the page AnswerBank page has 'crashed' on me once ...something about me using too much memory and telling Google or somebody over me!) but does marking something as a Best Answer stop anyone else from answering my question as I had asked about the flowers (bulbs?) too
Thank you dannyk13. You get the prize though it's only a a grateful old biddy. Mamyalynne, all I ever seek is a clue or a shove in some direction. ANY direction. I am sick of going round the RHS site via Google and fending off firms selling their bulbs and rose trees (though I have actually seen a delightful one I've never seen before called "Remember Me".
Thank you JJ109 but why 'LIGHT' bulbs? Mamyalynne is right, the compiler IS a hard taskmaster but even when he sends the answers (with detailed explanations!) I can't always link in to his thought process. In the end, if I still can't 'link in to it' when I send off my entry I usually put what I think is nearest to it.
