As my mother is cooking Christmas Dinner I said I was do something for afters but I don't know whether to do a cheeseboard (my preference) or a pudding.
A cheeseboard I could do without thinking but I have no idea what to do for a pudding. It would need to be something made in advance that I could transport with me.
I love the idea of a cheese board - lovely mix of cheese, fruit, biscuits, nuts, whatever …..you can just ‘graze’ until you’re full ( King Island Triple Cream Brie ….heaven )
I think I’d go with a Pavlova Lcg , doused in Pernod then lit :0)
But I like a nice cheeseboard with a good coffee , also a mixture of both black and green grapes adorning it
I've got a few glass pots with clip-lock lids left over from various pates we've eaten so I could do a "potted" version individual puddings but the labels are proving a nightmare to get off.
I’m good thanks, off to the shops at 9 for some Christmas tablecloths ….haha ,that’s to take with us as we have our friends who live in Lanzarote coming round for nibbles and drinks on CE and we have presents for them to go under the tree .
Lola turns her nose up at a Christmas stocking ( must be the snooty poodle side to her )
I love both! Particularly stilchelton - delicious stilton that comes cru rather than pasteurised and has a creamier taste. Christmas Pud to follow - my sister's that is steeped in booze for months and a case of 'I was only eatin' the pud, offisher'
People who get the whole period of Christmas off are very lucky. My husband breaks up next Friday and doesn't go back until Wednesday after NY. I've got to go to work on the in between days. That's why I think a holiday away instead of all the hassle is a better option for next year.
Good morning I'm fine thanks, still freezing cold here. I'm hopeless at puddings so I usually have a M&S lemon meringue roulade in the freezer as you don't want anything too heavy after Christmas lunch and then cheese board later on.
