Useless advertising.....

Whats the most useless advertising youve seen?....
At the Tesco Superstore in Ilfracombe I saw suspended from the ceiling 3 or 4 large cards saying 5p off a litre of petrol/diesel when more than £50 is spent in store.Being as I needed to fill up for my 400 mile journey I wanted this deal.I went to the customer service desk to ask where the filling station was located on the site. The staff member said without a hint of irony and with a complete staight face "Its in Barnstaple about 12 miles away, we dont sell petrol at this store".I suggested that was not really a lot of good and she agreed adding evryone thinks its a pretty useless promotion....me too!

Tesco's again.. we have a tesco metro locally and they had those signs displayed 'If ther's more than one person behind you in the queue we'll open another till'.
There were four tills closed and eleven people int he queue. When I inquired I was told ' we don't practice that at express stores'!!!
they did take them down the fololwing week though...

Absolutely any car advert on TV. The all perform like Oscar-contenders in an Arts festival, but they never really give me the information I need to make an informed choice about actually buying a car - how expensive is it to fiill up, how much will a service cost me, will it fit in my garage? Such details seem to get lost in making every car look like it has been dropped off by aliens as a run-about while they visit earth.
i saw a great one yesterday.
A family restaurant that advertises a "children's Buffet" allowing them to choose what they want from a buffet table.
One visit allowed only, fair enough.
on holiday little CRX loved buffets as he felt quite grown up telling what he'd like, or poiting it out so that i could get him the bits he wanted.
But this "buffet" was staffed, parents and children not allowed to touch a thing for H&S reasons. and they decided how much you got.
I dont see the point, theyd be better off ordering off menu
