hi, i am at home at till christmas so have time on my hands. I hate christmas shopping, plus i'm reasonably poor this year, so i am thinking of making people food gifts for christmas this year, I can do brownies reasonably well. Anyone have any other ideas? Perhaps things that will last for a bit as there is always loads of food around at xmas
oatcakes for a savoury alternative. someone made us some last christmas and they were lovely with some of the special christmas cheeses. kept for ages in an airtight jar too.
i don't think it needs to be expensive. For example, i already have things like sugar, butter, syrup etc in the cupboard. Am just trying out honetcomb now :)
That's what I am doing bednobs. So far I have made three different types of chutney and mincemeat. I'll also do some jam and mince pies and small puds.
Lakeland have a good selection of jars and tubs etc and they are cheaper than Hobbycraft.
thanks i tried honeycomb last night and it was an unmitigated disaster, so i'm rapidly reviewing my ideas. i also was looking o the BBC website and they had loads of ideas
