Nice relaxing one here hopefully shifting the end of my cold before work tomorrow.

Had a lovely lie in and curled up on the sofa watching Pride and Prejudice with a lovely cafetiere of fresh coffee doing some knitting for the neonatal unit. Did one hat last night and another on the way.

Cooking up a nicee spaghetti bolognese later and hoping to get some energy and motivation up to go on a mad mission and start on a bit of a clear out - hoping to challenge myself to throw away as much as possible and have a good sort out. Think I'll stick one of my new sales bargains films on later once I've got all the washing and such done.

Happy New Year's Day All :)

Happy New Year Jenna x

Just got back from Edinburgh. Having a cuppa and checking all my e-mails
decorations down really goood clean fresh flowers steak chips and salad for dinner tonight with a selection of gu puds and all interspersed with fresh coffee and maltesers,, just painted my nails about to go for long soak in the bath can life feel much better?
In the pub with friends, recollecting last night. Best place in the world.
happy new year

got up late, doing nothing but watching tv, off to bed early tonight, as i shall be up at 0430 for work tomorrow
Trying to stay awake. i'm really tired thanks to my neighbours being very noisy last night. I wouldn't mind if it was a one off but they are like this all the time... except last night the noise didn't stop till 4am and I was up at 8.15am :(
Worked this morning, very difficult shift, 17 year old was due for Theatre after RTA but unfortunately nothing could be done and the machines were being turned off at mid day. Seems to be familiar occurence on NYD sadly.
Now just vegging out for the rest of the day with various programmes lined up.
That is very sad ChillDoubt.

Happy New Year :)

Aww that's so sad chilldoubt :(

I woke up late Daffy, firework crazy round here and I was trying to find where the cat was hiding in the house, bless her. She was curled up in my arms as New Year turned then fled when even more fireworks went off.

Cheered her up once they calmed down though with a treat of some nice ham in her bowl and lots of cuddles. She's happily cuddled up in my bed now having a lazy day herself (nothing new there haha!).
Nature of the job unfortunately, you just feel for the families stood out on the corridor looking lost and bewildered.
It just gets compounded for them at this time of year.
On here & glad of the solitude
Reading the paper by the fire, trying to ward off a cold, but think it's getting the better of me :(
Poor poor family ChillDoubt, my heart goes out to them.........

Aww Ann, get some vitamin C down you, it's helped me ward off a cold before now.

I came down with one Friday and it's lingering but not so bad. P&P finished and part way through another little knitted hat so am off to go do at least some clearing out. I've found some bargain bookcases and am determined to have a good clear out first - got some gorgeous craft books that I want to put up and try and store my wool better (rather than it taking over a living room table as it is now) but want to clear the crap out before I get more storage to just store it :)

Ok...here goes...binbags at the ready!
Jenna, have you got the neonatal hat pattern you could share please? A friend's baby is 7 weeks' prem and all her hats are too big!
we spent from 10-12 taking down the tent and tidying up after last night's party (we invite the neighbours so they know it's going to happen), then dossing and dozing this afternoon (watching the Salvage programme on Quest which is always interesting).
Lazing about, sampling just a little more wine, just to be sure it's OK, dogs to walk again later, that's about it.

HOW'S THE HEAD BOXY? ;o)
LOL baldric, it's OK now, thank you!
... I suppose I ought to add "...and getting ready for work tomorrow"...groogh.
I'm sitting here, wet hair, wondering whether I can be bothered to go up the pub or not. If not, I'll stay where I am and chill for the rest of the day.
