fur footwear is Glass Slipper, mistranslation of the French Vair (fur) for Verre (glass)
Yes, GLASS SLIPPER, original French 'vair' = fur, but mistranslated as 'verre' = glass.
glass slippers looks correct since a popular version of Cinderella is a French story and the French for glass is verre, which sounds a bit like fur.
