The Calm Before The Storm?

Usually, this location is bustling with tourists and locals on a Saturday afternoon with all businesses open and thriving. Hurricane Ida is expected to make landfall on Sunday as a level 4 hurricane. Sixteen years ago tomorrow Katrina made a landfall as a level 3. I surely hope it doesn't happen again: https:/ /www.ea rthcam. com/eve nts/mar digras/ ?cam=ca tsmeow2

The hydro for this part of New Orleans came back on Thursday afternoon, and if you watch as the camera pans around there doesn't seem to be much obvious damage. You missed a couple of religious zealots with loud-speakers yelling about the sinfulness of the French Quarter, and that God created Ida on the 16th anniversary of Katrina to bring destruction. The cops moved them on, but you can still hear them in the background.
