To those of you who own antique pendulum-clocks, you may notice that your clock runs a minute or two slower during a prolonged period of heat. That is because the pendulum-rod expands slightly and lengthens thus all the gear-ratios from the great-wheel driven by the spring to the escapement mechanism which releases the energy of the spring (And the thingy that makes that tick-tock sound) are slowed down...You've been warned!
