At what age to dogs mature?

What is the right time to mate a male dog?My dog is a year old he is a spits.He has stoped eating we have to feed him forcefully n he's become wild.Is this the right time to mate? him my doc said this is one possibility n also he's given my dog some medicine which is doesn't eat.
My uncle has a cocker spaniel (male) n an irrish setter (female).Cocker is exactly 1 year n 22 days old n the Setter is 4 months old.What will be the right time to mate the Cocker?n when will the Setter get into heat?

PS:The cocker is not turned wild like my spits

Dont breed your spits if he's gone wild as you put it, there is a big descussion on wether aggression of any kind is lack of good training or just bad breeding but in general the advice would be not to breed from him just in case and to get toa good training school ASAP

This is the reason rescue homes are full of unwanted crossbreeds. People like this planning to mate dogs without any knowledge or reasoning.

Hi, I don't mean to be rude, but if you have to ask these questions you really shouldn't be even thinking of breeding your dogs! Breeding of any animal is not something that should be taken on lightly....it is something that takes years of experienced dog ownership and research, not a few random questions on a site such as this. Please follow the advice above and instead of thinking about breeding look into having your dogs spayed or neutered.

most dogs mature at 2 some like border collies mature at about 18 months

think very carefully befire you mate any dog and not under 2 . has your dog got the right temprement to sire or have puppies and please do not force feed your dog put the food down for tem mins then pick it up try this twcie a day it will eat if it get s hungry and look at the food you are feeding
