Won a holiday to tenerife whilst there last week, costing 49.50pp taxes etc.. anyone won this kinda thing on holiday. Scratch card. Cosmos holiday membership was connected to this. Did the tour then won the holiday. Any advice.. has anybody won a holiday and actually went.. Cheers to all who reply.. I know COSMOS is abta covered but the booklet states SUNSET HOLIDAYS.. it all looks cocha and above board.. but being a typical scot.. it all sounds too good to be true....

If its any help, Sunset holidays are the cheaper side of Thomas Cook, Im 99% sure that Cosmos doesnt have a cheapie side any more, use to be Archers Direct, but theyve turned Archers Direct into the touring side of the business.
SCRATCH CARD - To me that says it all, time share tout comes to mind, attend a no obligitary meeting, come aned view a property,
Tenerife etcis one of those special places for scratchcards, as you dont have a cooling off period as in Uk Law
To be honest it comes tomind as CON CON CON
Why not give Cosmos a ring, or contact your local trading standards befor you part with a penny.

We have been on a something like this (not same company) and we did get the holiday but we had to go to a 3 hour presentation and tour of timeshare property and when we said "no" we didn't want to buy, they got very nasty We were with friends so we stood our ground but even though they tell you it isn't timeshare, they sometimes call it Holiday Club but it is the same thing. Take care if you go. Don't hand over any money .
First point is the usual - if it looks too good to be true then it probably is.
Second - why not search online for Sunset Holidays.
Third - also search online for "holiday scams". I bet there is a website devoted to warning people of all the scams doing the rounds. I looked for one when my dopey brother fell for the "You've won a holiday" scam, but can't remember the name of it.
My dopey s-in-law also sent a poem to a publishers competition and guess what, she was in the semi final and just had to send some cash to see her poem published.

Well there are 3 possibilities -
they take the 49.50 and that's the last you hear from them
they take the 49.50 and offer you a holiday at short notice from an inconvenient airport. When you can't take the offer up you lose the 49.50
they take the 49.50, you get your holiday and have to endure a high pressure sales pitch while you are there.
Which of these this one is I don't know.
You haven't 'won' a holiday - you are being offered a bait. Every scratch card was a 'winner'.

Did everyone who had a scratch card also win a holiday ?
or where you the only one ? smells of scam i am afraid.
say thanks but no thanks.
If you do go, definately the sales pitch will be included, carefully hide all credit cards and tell them you only came with a small amount of cash to cover the holiday as you have just been declared bankrupt.
