Xmas pressie for my dad

Please help!I'm trying to think up a xmas pressie for my dad. Only have about �25.00 as him and my mum are getting a joint pressie too. He's 46 and into steam trains but has all the books and videos under the sun. Likes a beer at the weekends but always ends up with a mixed pack of real ales on his birthday.

Any ideas anyone please?

Last year he unded up with a pack of M & S socks, I really don't want that to happen again!

why don't you buy him an anarak... with large pockets in for his cans of beer ..........sorry ...couldn't resist .....

why not something "gadgety" to do with his steam trains, or train book ends, train alarm clock,

Is there a preserved railway within travelling distance of where he lives?
If so, do they do any presents like a ride on the footplate, or learning to drive a train, or some sort of special day out?
