Is anyone apart from me disappointed with tthe Post Office's Christmas stamp (Second Class Post)? I refer to the two pantomime characters looking at a slipper. A turn-off.

did you know you can ask for the alternative christmas stamp - i had the lovely madonna and child 2nd class stamp. They always offer a religious alternative stamp - I didn't know that until i read it this year - they were really lovely

Thanks baileybird. I wasn't aware that there was an alternative. (I should have thought that my local Post Office would have mentioned it). I will ask for the Madonna version next time.
"They always offer a religious alternative" - no: I think you'll find this is the first year they've done that. UK Christmas stamps have always alternated between religious and non-religious stamps (ie. religion every other year).

I read recently that the religious stamps are not being promoted as the PO can then claim that sales of secular stamps far outstripped them.
Ergo, they can then use this as an excuse to have no religious stamps next year.
