Does anyone have any ideas on entertaing/activities for a lady in her late 30's, who has Learning Difficulties. We already swim, sauna, massage ect. walk 3 to 4 miles, do basic cookery and do various arts and crafts. Basic gardening tasks. She has allergies and is unable to do anything with animals. She's not into TV or electronic entertainment. Not much of a budget to play with. She is far better with one to one. We attend a gateway club... Any fresh ideas please and thankyou.
I don't know if you have anything like this in your area but we have a centre called bounceability which has trampolines in for people with learning difficutlies and the handicapped. One of my friends is a carer and takes her 40 year old client and she has a whale of a time.
A friend of mine sometimes runs a dance/drama workshop specifically for people with learning difficulties. They even put on a small performance at the end for friends and family. Is there anything like that near you?
I agree with CJ, because through drama and mime, people with SN are often able to express themselves better than when trying to mix in with everyday conversations and new surroundings.
How about music as well? If your friend likes to dance, then that's a good start, but she's not too old to go and see a band/singer at some local venue.
