Rent in advance - notice period

I pay my rent in advance and told my landlady at the end of last month that I want to give her 1 months notice as required. Is it right that that means I leave the end of the month?

Yeah I gave written notice at the end of last month so I think that means I stay til end of this month but I get a bit confused so thought I would check on here.

Yeah ummmm I paid �100 deposit and I will get that back.

well if you get that confused, then if i were your landlady i would say you have to stay until the end of august 2010 and pay 12 months in advance.

is it really that confusing ?

Without wanting to state the obvious here, you can leave when you wish, you don't have to wait, the place would still be yours, if just a little empty until your tenancy runs out.
