Bridesmaid Dresses

I am getting married next May in Cyprus and I am having problems finding bridesmaid dresses. I have looked in all the big department stores and most of the wedding shops near to me just sell wedding dresses. I think the best thing to do would be to go into London and have a look.

Does anybody know of any shops that sell nice bridesmaid dresses in Middlesex, Hertfordshire area or any you could recomend in London?

Hi Lousie82, I went shopping with a friend for the same reason and thought Oxford St was a poor, we had better luck on Regent St, Liberty's adn Dickens and Jones etc were better. Good luck!

Sometimes with bridesmaid dresses the best thing to do is find a dress maker and get her to make exactly what you want choosing fabric from John Lewis or the such. You shouold be able to find a dress maker quite easily on the internet or by asking around smaller fabrric shops or specialist dance wear shops as people who make dance costumes tend to make bridesmaid dresses.

What is your budget??? I am a wedding planner so could go on for ever here!

Oh, bear in mind that you are going to have to pay for any alterations made to the dresses on top of the actual cost, if you have a fussy bridesmaid then it can amount to rather a lot, my bridesmaid had another �100 of alterations done to her dress!!

I brought my bridesmaid dresses from Monsoon.  They have a lovely range of bridesmaid dresses, some of which won't need adjusting.  Approx price is �180-�200.  Not all the Monsoon's have a bridal range, so check before you go!

Thank you all for your help. That is a really good idea getting them made by a dress maker. I will look into it. My budget is not massive unfortunately but it may work out cheaper.

I have looked in Monsoon but only in the small ones so they didnt have that much variety but i will look in one of thier bigger stores. I think my best bet will be to go into London and have a look in all the big department stores. I will defindately look in Dickens and Jones etc as suggested.

Try your local BHS. They have a good bridal range, especially if your bridesmaids are children rather than adults. What's great is that they also sell a range of bridal footwear so you can get everything to match all in one shop.

I have 7 brand new bridesmaid dresses I am trying to sell. They are a tea-rose color, strapless a-line dress, with an ivory sash for the waist. They do come with straps. The back zips up, but there are buttons going down the back. This color would be great for May. There is nothing wrong with these dresses, I just dont ilke the color, and the shop i got them from wont let me return them. Let me know if you are interested!
