AB wouldn't choose what adverts are shown, they simply subscribe to an advertising service and provide space on the site for the adverts and the advertising service will push whichever adverts they want into the space provided.

The ads on mine at the mo can help me lower my deposit...... Advertising new houses in my area. An ad for giffgaff, and Smokey - about preventing forest fires, the nearest forest must be a good 30 miles away.

I don't get these adverts as I have Firefox ad block. Am I missing out?
