Fancy dress ideas.

I tried posting this in Body & Soul but got no help. So am trying here.
I'm going to my OH work do, it says on invite - "Mad Hatters Tea Party" - casual or fancy dress. Any ideas on what I can wear? I'm not one for dressing up, but would like to wear something apropriate.

Tweedledum & Tweedledee? Stripey t-shirts and dungerees should be easy to get plus 'bald' wigs and stuffing round your tummies.

I reckon Alice is too easy and every woman there will be going as Alice so if it was me I would try and think of another character. Don't ask me what but there were only three actually at the party wasn't there? Was it the dormouse, the mad hatter and I believe the white rabbit was there or it might have been the March hare. But there are plenty of other characters in the Alice books that you can call upon.

a nice white dress or trousers and a white top, set of bunny ears and get someone to do some face painting....White rabbit voila !

Thanks all - bought some bunny ears yesterday so will prob try mazie's idea. Have no white trousers though so bunny will be half white and half what ever I decide to wear.
