For instance, in a catalogue of ladies clothing, one 'designer label' was selling ladies Tshirts as size XL, at the bottom of the page they had a comparison chart and XL equated to a size 14!!! They had 8=S, 10=M and 12=L. Size 12 is NOT large!
cheeky chops is right...
i used to work in txmaxx and even though ofically there a : xxs=size 6, xs=size 8, s=size 10, m=size 12, L=size 14 XL= size 16 etc, im a size 14 and from just that one shop i have clothes ranging from a size 10 to a size 16 becuse different manifacturere have different ideas on the sizes.
