No, they won't go away; Cleggy's still at it in the "Brexit Lecture".
A few sound bytes from the Cleggy tour de force:
S of the BO: "No mandate lasts for ever".
The broken lift - confused on so many levels - statement of principle: "Parliament should not vote for a future whose details are so poorly defined".
And - pièce de résistance - by way of illustrating his SOBO point: "One election is followed by another election is followed by...". A "killer" argument to Clegg obviously, but one that manages to elide the (to some of us) non-trivial detail that the space between elections is occupied by a democratically elected government which - just possibly - as much as half the electorate doesn't like very much

Brexiteers may have a daily thread or two on hear but it is usually in reply to some piece in the media. Therefore blame the media not Brexiteers. If *** is not countered *** becomes accepted or true. In some cases the retort, or reply if you like is because the original media indicates there is someone, usually someone who at some point had a bit of power or someone...

Brexit big hitter, eh, Theland?
At a time when few politicians, and probably very few of the general public, had an appetite for war and would have accepted almost any accommodation with Hitler to avoid it only one man understood the nature of the threat and how its ambitions would be whetted rather than assuaged by concessions.
We know many people who claim to be Brexiteers who clearly aren't Churchills.
On the broad themes of Germany and fascists we can see akind of Aldi parallel, can't we?

since Godwin's Law has already been invoked - in their avoidance attempts during the early days, the British created the circumstances that led to the Venlo Incident (q/v) which, rather than ending hostilities, gave Hitler the excuse he needed to annex the neutral Netherlands. Just wonder what unintended consequences we'll be faced with as each side gets increasingly wound up about ensuring its own stance prevails?

Nope - by 1939 the hope of peace had gone - I cant remember when gas masks were issued. The Nazi-Soviet Pact was like a thunderclap and everyone knew war was inevitable.
but hey - if History doesnt fit
rewrite it so it does !
History is as we know a social construct of the time in which we live....
