Internet shopping is fantastic - if you have an internet connected device and know how to use it. So many people who would benefit from internet shopping don't have the facility and wouldn't have a clue how to use it if they did.
My father used my mother's many time when he fetched a sack of potatoes, I can clearly remember him using a shopping trolley in the 60s although the handle wasn't really long enough for him.
I live in sheltered housing so all elderly/pensioners. Several of the gents who live here use a shopping trolly for trips to the local shops and quite a few use Internet shopping for bigger shops
Internet shopping is OK but there are things that I wouldn't trust somebody else to pick for me. I like to choose the thickness of chops and steaks as well as the fat content. Having said that I'm quite happy to take a shopping trolley if it's convenient for the sort of shop we're doing.
It's never occurred to me that some people (such as Jennyjoan apparently!) would think it odd in any way for a man to use a shopping trolley. I see plenty of men using them and, some time ago (when my mobility was becoming extremely limited due to lymphoedema in my legs, which has fortunately now eased considerably), I looked into buying one for myself.
Not just men using them, Chris. My ten years older than me friend hated to come shopping with me when I brought the blinged up trolley. By the end of the day her arms were a foot longer....and I was still zipping along.
Err Chris - you mistook my post. I actually would like my neighbour to have one - would make his life so much easier.
How about this - he came up last week carrying two bags of shopping on each hand - managed to hold the walking stick, held onto the hood of a two year baby walking and the baby's rucksack on his neck. This is very frequent that my other neighbour commented about it. I'll buy him one for God's sake. I think his pride is coming into the way there.
