I am going to a wedding on Saturday and have got a gorgeous dress - but I don't know if it is appropriate to wear as it is cream/gold - I don't want to look like I am part of the bridal party or as if I am trying to compete with the bride!
Could I wear it to the nightime instead - and wear something else during to day - or would it be ok with a cardi/shrug & flat pumps during the day and change to heels un the evening?
There is a perfect bag to match the turquoise shoes that Julien McDonald does in his Star range but I cannot find it on the site, it is a small satin clutch bag.
It is a beautiful dress, but I would be happier wearing it to the evening part than the day myself. How 'dressy' are the families concerned, do you know?
How close are you to the Bride... why not phone her & ask her what she thinks..It is her day.
I feel you could get away wearing it in the day if you get a little balero type jacket & keep it done up so you only see the skirt part. Then take that off in the evening .
I think it is a lovely dress ~ and to be honest I don't think it is unsuitable..however I don't know what the colour theme is for the wedding, or whether it is a formal/informal do?
When I got married I didn't take much notice of what other people were wearing ~ looking at the photos, some dressed down and some dressed up with hats and glitter!
I thought that too, & not too pricey..It covers up a lot but is glam aswell...then you can reveal all in the evening...& if you have hair that can do up...with a bodice dress I would put it up the accent shoulders & neck & jaw.
I think your dress is lovely, Why worry about looking like you are part of the bridal party? You are not going to push yourself on all the photos are you, or pop up on every frame of the video, My step daughter got married in March and the guests wore all sorts of different outfits, some flashy and some plain. If you are comfortable in your dress then you will enjoy the day.
dot is the one to advise on accessories, Im hopeless.
Although a good idea, surely the bride is busy enough without having to pic out guests outfits too? Lol.
I don't think it's inappropriate colour wise or anything like that but I do think it's a tad dressy but then if you can't wear a dressy dress to a wedding, when can you wear one eh?
i dont think its too dressy but the belt round the middle looks abit horrible id just go shopping tmoz and get a simple dress with high heels and dress it up with acceseries! look at asos.com theve got some nice ones i really dont like that dress sorry!! wish you look xx
