new laptop with vista and need help

i brought a new laptop today with the windows vistas.... why it was in the shop he should me how to connect to the internet via wireless....on getting the laptop home i setup the internet with virgin then i pressed the wireless button on the laptop only for it to tell me that it had no wireless but i knowit has because he showed me in the shop..... after trying and tryin and still not bein able to get on the net with it wireless i decided to plug it in with the wires the next problem i had was that i couldnt download msn????........could anybody tell me how i solve the wireless problem and the msn problem bit of a long shot i know but i thought posting it here that somebody maybe able to help me rather than go back to the shop and have to listen to there computer jargen lol.....thanks to anybody in advance if they can help and sorry for it bein so long

Have you got standard Virgin with a cable modem? If so it doesn't have wireless and you need to buy a wireless router to use.
