Today I Lost My Purse
14 Answers
I lost my purse today first time I think this has happened and it was a traumatic feeling when I realised! Had to cancel all cards etc and that was some handling, had a Marks and Spencer card and they were most comforting and great to deal with, other cards took a bit of time as all accents aren't easy to understand! I didn't have any money in it so maybe it might be handed in. What would you do if you found a purse would you try to find the owner, I know I would!

I would hand it in at the police station, I know I would.
However - why don't you join one of these insurance schemes to protect your cards? I belong to CPP, all my cards are registered with them, and if I lose my cards I don't need to ring all the individual card issuers, one call to CPP and it's all done for me. Lots of card companies offer cover but this is the one we...

It's a vile feeling - my purse was stolen from my zipped handbag in Spain last year.

yes my purse was stolen once from local pub. was a nightmare cancelling all my cards then just after police station rang to say someone had handed it in less the money, it had been taken out and discarded. I got CCTV footage and had a word with the boy that took it though ;-) I once gave back about 300 quid I found too.

I found some home videos & coat thrown into garden; phoned police & they recorded it but wouldn't take the property. Months later, I saw an advert in local paper for same - returned to owner. T'was an expat visiting home and videos had the last memories of their mother....someone had broken into their car & stolen radio.
Whilst walking the dog early one morning in the park, I found someone's purse and brought it home to look to see if there were any contact details in it, there weren't. As I was going out for the day I got Mr Jules to take it to the Police Station for me, the lady was very grateful, she had already cancelled her cards, but I suppose knowing that they hadn't fallen into the 'wrong hands' helped, she bought me a bunch a flowers and a thank you card which was lovely, but I didn't do it for a reward or anything I just hope that if I were to ever be in that situation someone would do the same for me.
