Ideas Please For Secret Santa

Every year we usually do a secret santa with a group of friends to cut down on cost.

This year I got a man who is a real foody and loves his football. Last year he received a home made food hamper which I think he loved but I am a little stuck this year.

I usually avoid the shop suggested Christmas gifts as they are generally what I would call 'throw away' gifts. I am not opposed to buying something from a shop but I would like to get him something he would use/eat/love.

The budget is £20 and he's in his early thirties, married with young children.

Can anyone think of or suggest something different that a man would actually like to get as a gift.

Cheers all

does he cook or just enjoy eating?

Both Woofgang, I suspect he spends a lot less time cooking these days and he works full time and has young children. Him and his wife, I would imagine are run ragged most of the time.
A cheese board and your selection of cheeses + port?
A nice bottle of vintage port to go with the Christmas cheeseboard

Psybbo - that's a great idea but was included in last years home made hamper. I did think of doing similar but I wanted to try and do something different for him.
A selection of Cornish ciders......
A good bottle of Balsamic vinegar and a bottle of decent olive oil will exceed £20 but not by much. You don't need to worry too much about how they are stored either, under the Christmas tree etc.

They are good gifts as they are quite indulgent but much appreciated......well by me anyway.
How much do you want to spend?
Sorry Psybs didn't see your post when I started typing x

Sounds good Eccles.

Anything else AB'ers?
SOZ, dint see that it was £20. Surely people get lots of food at Xmas. Is there nothing personal, like cuff links or personalised gift that could be given instead?
Nice salts and peppers, as well as a selection of dried herbs, and not just the crap the s-markets sell.

Taylors of Harrogate as to good teas and coffees.....

I don't specifically want a food based gift Dunnitall but felt I needed to give you all an idea of what he likes and all I know he likes really is food and football.

He probably has many other likes but I don't know him that well which is why it's so hard to find something.

Kill two birds with one stone, Greedyfly. Buy him an halftime meat and potato pie at the ground of the football team he supports ;-)

Tonyav - that sounds good
A £20 voucher for Pizza Express/McDonalds or whatever his choice of food is. That way he can share it with his family.
