Im going to a friends wedding next week. She and her partner have been living together for a couple of years and both have been married before.

Ive asked her for a wedding list, but she said that they dont want gifts they are happy just to have their friends around them on the day.

I dont want to turn up empty handed but as they already have a home with everything they need and more Im stumped for ideas.

How about getting them a really nice name plate for their house front door. 'Mr & Mrs xxxxxx'

Get a presentation box and wrap in beautiful tissue paper
For our wedding, we chose to open an account with the Flight Centre and told people to put money in it rather than give us a gift. It paid for a round the world trip and we didn't end up with a house full of junk!
I know it's too late to recommend this to your friend but alternatively you could buy them a flight somewhere for weekend or something.

cant really stump up that sort of cash for a flight. I havnt seen her for almost a year so we arent exactly best friends. Was thinking of a budget of 20-25 really.

thanks for ideas though
My brother & sister in law did not want presents for their wedding either but I also did not want to turn up empty handed. They are into penguins so I adpoted one for them from London Zoo.. They get photos and news about him and when they go to see him, their name is on the wall for them to see. If your friends like animals of any kind it is a lovely present to give.

thats an interesting idea bagpuss, shall have a look into that thanks.
I think you can buy land on the moon too! There is a website that does it, though I'm not sure what it is. They give you a certificate and stuff. It's a bit cheesy I know but you could tell them it's for when they start a family and they need a bigger place!

Try www.corkingdesigns.co.uk

Unusual, Querky, personalised and special gifts, you cannot go wrong.
How about giving them an Acre of Rainforest, or a cow, or a herd of chickens.....?? Of course you don't actually give them these gifts, but they are donated by charity on their behalf.

Try Googling World Land Trust for the Rainforest or Oxfam Unwrapped for other interesting gifts.

We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and specified No Presents, but somebody donated a batch of chickens on our behalf to an African Family via Oxfam Unwrapped, and we were delighted at the gesture.

thanks everyone for the ideas,
we did try getting the spa vouchers but boots had sold out so in the end opted for a bottle of champagne and glasses which we made a presentation box for and filled with the usual confetti and glitter.
Will certainly keep the ideas for the many weddings coming up next year though, thank you xx
