I have just got a Nintendo Wii, and I'm trying to connect to the internet. I have a wireless router - NETGEAR - and am on AOL for my internet connection. The Wii will recognise the router but gives an error code when It test the connection. Anyone out there know what to do. I've tried to disable the firewall on the router and tried to open up the ports - all info I got from Nintendo's site - but still no luck. Not being very tech minded, I need some simple help. Thanks all / anyone in advance.

Are you connecting wirelessly or by ethernet cable?
Question Author
Dear fo3nix I am connecting with a ethernet cable.
Does it have an ethernet port? From what I read it seems to only have USB ports, with the option of connecting wirelessly. Are you using the official Nintendo USB to ethernet adapter?

Have you tried to connect wirelessly?

Also, I assume the router works fine with other computers connected?
