How about some pampering products for the parents rather than just gifts for the baby,some nice aromatherapy oils and massage oils,or some scented candles.I bet everyone else bought baby gifts and forgot all about the parents so your gift would be memorable because of that.

my brother and wife have just had their first child and I bought a digital photo frame through amazon and had it sent directly to them with a personal message.

they loved it and rotate lots of baby pics throughout the day.
