Bar mitzvah Gift?

I'm attending a Bar mitzvah soon and i was wondering what would be an appropriate gift. I'd prefer to give cash,.Is there a certain amount that i'm supposed to give?

We always give money and I supose the amount depends how close you are and what you can afford. You might struggle to find a card unless you go to a jewish shop as they difficult to find on the high street.
