chocolate, biscuits, vesta ready meals [no fridge needed] tinned chicken etc for snacks. Gift vouchers for supermarket. Photo frame. Black bin bag for his dirty laundry [with label to return home when full]
Personally I liked the laundry bag with level lines on the outside, showing, 1 week, 2 weeks, Naked!
Congratulations to your nephew & what a thoughtful Auntie you are. From experience, once fresher's week is over, he'll be wondering where his money has gone. A student railcard is ideal, or Oyster card if he's in London. An occasional food parcel is always a huge hit. You can do it via an online supermarket or checkout www.studentgiftparcel.co.uk Alternatively, all the cleaning products/toiletries needed for his first term. My son was horrified at prices for essentials when he went shopping & hadn't even got to the food aisles. Books are another expense they're not usually prepared for. As he's using a shared kitchen, a mini fridge for his bedroom was one of the most useful things I bought (so says my son) Good luck!
