Have just got a job in a bank in London. Previously, when it rained, I would don my trusty ski jacket. However, with the somewhat posher clothes expectations of the City I have decided the time has come to invest in an umbrella. Being a girly and not wishing to lug a standard one about, I was wondering if anyone has tried the handbag stormproof brolly by SENZ? Or indeed any other brand which would fit in a large handbag. It is rather expensive, but so is replacing the darn thing when it blows inside out (this being the reason why I have never had one before). Answers on a postcard.... Thanks all.
I've got a stormproof or rather a windproof umbrella which I brought from the Daily Mirror.
I have had it over a year. It has been used alot and it has never blown inside out on me yet!!
Well I went shopping today and one of the many items I bought was an umbrella. Cost me £19 from Boros and its called Fulton and its one of those that springs open when you press a button. The lady at the counter said it was one of the best makes and its pretty stormproof. We shall see......!
Oh and its small and slim and should fit in most handbags.
Interesting you should say that Dotty. I borrowed a brolley for my intereview. And....left it on the train. I thought that if it went into handbag was less likely to leave it behind....Raincoat with hood is obvious but good idea!! Tigger...we don't have a Boros here but I will look into a Fultons. Thanks to all for your input :):):)
I had a Fulton a few years ago,and have to admit it did not last any longer than cheaper brands....but it can get quite windy down here.
If you have a TKMax near you-you might get a 'good' brand at half price.
Umberellas are umberellas and as you say, its easy to leave them on the train, get them blown inside out, break the mechanisms. I'd just by the one you like and hope the job's successful enough to afford you a new one when that one goes the way of most others.
